THE FARMERS’ BAR at The King’s Head
Dating from 1455 The Farmers’ Bar is a hidden gem in the heart of the old market town of Aylesbury. Beautiful beams and wooden floors bedeck this old-world style inn and there is a warm welcome from the friendly staff whether you are drinking, dining or coming in for coffee.
The bar is stocked with an excellent selection of the Chiltern Brewery’s fine draught ales and bottled beers, along with a select choice of wines. Choose your drink and retire to one of the comfy sofas or old wooden benches and when the sun is shining it is a must to sit out in the ancient cobbled courtyard surrounded on all sides by old stables, the Great Hall and the beautiful arch under the inn where coaches used to enter.
The scent of hops is likely to give you a healthy appetite so be sure to ask for our Bill of Fare which offers delicious platters. The emphasis is on quality, simplicity and taste using the finest, wherever possible, locally sourced ingredients. Wonderful fresh bread baked locally using our draught beers and exquisite cheese made on a dairy farm using our Beechwood Bitter, are a couple of the wholesome ingredients with true provenance used by our chef. Try our hearty and traditional ploughman’s lunch or enjoy an excellent evening meal in the Hop Pocket.
