Glad Tidings Wins Bronze in National Competition

“This is almost too good to be true” said director George Jenkinson. “We have won our highest ever award and in our 30th anniversary year. What a wonderful moment; for Tom and myself, everyone here at Terrick and in particular for our parents, Richard & Lesley, who founded the brewery in 1980. We are very proud.”

Glad Tidings is a wonderful, intense and deep seasonal stout that suits any occasion: bursting with rich flavours it was one of just 27 beers to win a national title.

Normally only brewed once each year in small amounts another batch is currently being brewed to be available for Easter in celebration of the award.

“It is a fantastic vote of confidence in our policy here at the brewery of using only the finest natural ingredients of good provenance with the highest possible standards” says head brewer Tom Jenkinson. “It is also a great reward for our product innovation. We are always working hard to bring our customers new, exciting ideas that fit into the heritage of our fine English ales.”

To put the achievement in perspective, 1400 beers were originally entered in the regional heats and from those 63 from about 50 brewers were put through to the National Beer Competition.

SIBA is the Society of Independent Brewers, a trade organisation specifically set up to help the nation’s small brewers.
